Intermediate Hatha Yoga — Personal Instructor Sessions

A structured group practice guided by an experienced instructor — each session builds on the last, so participants develop at a pace that actually fits their bodies.

Intermediate Hatha Yoga — Personal Instructor Sessions

At some point, group classes stop giving you what you need. You know the postures but something still feels off, or you want to work toward something specific like a deeper backbend or steadier balance.

What these sessions focus on

Your instructor, Oleander Fitch, starts with a short assessment in the first session to understand where you are and what you are actually trying to work on. From there, each session is built around your goals rather than a fixed syllabus. Some students want to refine alignment in postures they have been doing for years. Others want to build a home practice they can actually stick to.

A note on progression

Progress in yoga is not linear. You might nail a posture one week and struggle with it the next depending on how your body feels. Oleander works with that rather than against it, adjusting the session focus based on what is showing up for you that day.

Format and practicalities

Sessions run for 75 minutes via video call. You will need a mat, adequate floor space and ideally a yoga block or two. Between sessions, Oleander sends a short practice note with 2 or 3 things to work on, nothing overwhelming, just a way to keep momentum going.

Is this right for you

If you have at least 6 months of regular yoga practice behind you and want more focused attention than a group class offers, this is worth considering.

Session Structure

Session structure

  • Session 1: Movement assessment, goal setting, identifying key areas to work on
  • Sessions 2-4: Targeted posture work, alignment refinement, breath integration
  • Sessions 5-8: Sequencing work, building personal practice templates, advanced pranayama introduction
  • Sessions 9-10: Review, consolidation, planning for ongoing independent practice

The program adapts as you go. If one area needs more time, sessions shift accordingly.

Between-session notes are included to help you practice independently without guesswork.
